Luxury Foundation

February 13, 2018

So recently I done a Blog on high street foundations and got great feedback from this so I thought that I would take time to concentrate on the luxury side of things. Foundation for me is so important it the canvas to everything else. I always tend to wear a luxury brand due to the fact is make me feel and look amazing, don’t get me wrong you can get this from high street products too however I do like to invest in my skin products. During this BLOG you will find out what is my number one. To some of my many followers this will not be a surprise to you hehe.

Dior skin Nude Natural Glow Radiant Fluid Foundation

This foundation provides a subtle velvet finish with just the right amount of correction, revealing the skin's texture and adding natural, shine-free radiance for a perfect finish. I recently purchased this after hearing a lot of good reviews about it and they were so right. I find it difficult to wear foundations as they don't last long because I have oily sin but I wore this and it lasted up to about 12hrs which for me that is really good. applies so smoothly and I love the silky feel to it. I have a couple of dry patches also and I find that this doesn't sink into them and cling on to them. it is so easy to apply and it is so worth the money and has such a good value. 100% recommend and would repurchase.

Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation by Yves Saint Laurent

I love this foundation because as I have said above I have drier skin. It is free from heavy "masking" powders so it never looks too heavy and never clings to my dry patches. The coverage is medium-full but very buildable up to a very full coverage that could rival double-wear in my opinion. My favourite aspect of the foundation is the fact that my skin looks healthy and glowing but never shiny... The effect is natural and yet my skin appears perfected and almost photo shopped well filtered even. I know nothing to do with the foundation however how beautiful if the packaging.

                                            Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

The best thing I find about Luminous Silk is the silky texture that glides over the skin effortlessly. I have to blend most other foundations very carefully over small areas of my face to avoid cakey spots. With this one, I got completely lazy - I can slap a pump's worth into the middle of my face, slather it around, and it gives me a completely even, perfectly blended coverage without drying up and setting too fast and clinging to skin patches. For a light all-over application, I get the best results when I use my fingers and simply spread it around just like a moisturiser. it can be built up from about medium-light to medium-heavy coverage without looking heavy. On the days when the above is not enough, I like to take a bit more and apply it with a tapping motion wherever I need it, either with my fingers or my GLAMCANDY stippling brush. This covers any redness as you all know I have lots of that, capillaries, faded scars and light spots. It won't cover anything too dark, but I'd rather use my amazing Illamasqua light 1 concealer than a heavy foundation for that.
This may not be the best foundation for those who have very dry skin, though I tried using it several ways when applying sponge, brush and fingers after experimenting it did emphasize the dry skin especially on my nose area.

                                                    ILLAMASQUA Skin Base Foundation

MY favourite foundation who would have guessed HEHE
This is one of the foundations I keep in my professional kit. I’ve been using it since 2015 and haven’t found another foundation that comes close to how Skin Base looks on me, clients and the camera. I use it on Brides, Occasion makeups and Editorial. It can be built up to full coverage but is sheer enough that it looks like skin on camera. I keep shades 3, 4.5, 7.5, 10.5 and 14 with me wherever I go as these are the ones I use the most of in Scotland. I have a larger selection in my kit tho, but those 5 are my most used ones and supper easy to MIX . I apply with a blending foundation brush and buff out with the ILLAMASQUA stippling brush which is amazing. The foundation does set quickly so you have to work fast and on a smaller area at a time. It doesn’t technically need to be set with powder but I usually do a light dusting of Illamasqua setting powder to eliminate shine where it’s not needed. You can work this foundation up to a full coverage, covering any problematic areas. I would recommend you hydrate and prep the skin well before applying this product so you can get the best results . I always prep my skin with the HYDRA VEIL Primer a must have …….

Love Amanda xoxo
